Deer Theft

Let's help our fellow hunter recover his Trophy!

Below is a recent email from a hunter who was ripped off and is asking for help to recover what is rightly his!

Dear Ray,

My name is Aaron Vincent.  I am writing you this letter as a plea for help.  The mule deer that I have sent you pictures of was stolen from the back of my pickup truck in Laramie, Wyoming, December 1, 2004.  My truck was parked on a street very near the University of Wyoming Law School.  I was intending on mounting this deer as it was by far, my best to date.  The deer has a 31'' outside spread as is a large to say the least.  The culprits stole the deer from my truck sometime between 8 am. and 12 p.m. Tuesday morning.  I am asking that you post the picture and spread the word to look for a deer that fits the picture and description following [31'' outside spread, 24'' main beams both l. and r., 3 points per side with no brow tines], perhaps someone who sees the deer will recognize it and contact the proper authorities or respond to this e-mail.  I have filed a report with the Laramie Police Department in hopes of retrieving the animal.  I feel that we as hunters owe each other a duty to help one another out while we are in the field.  This duty extends to helping one another catch criminals who have robbed hunters of their hard earned game.  Needless to say the deer has a lot of sentimental value to me.  It was taken in area 128, 129 near Dubois, which as you know is a very hard tag to draw and more than likely a once in a lifetime tag.  I would sincerely ask that you inform the readers and viewers of Wyoming Outdoors for help in solving the matter.  Anything you can do will be much appreciated.  If anyone has any information regarding the deer they can contact me at 307-851-1566, joeywest@yahoo.com or they can phone the Laramie Police Department Patrol officer Taun Smith @ 307-721-2526.  I appreciate any help.

Sincerely,
Aaron J. Vincent
